I'm looking for the name of a vise, clamp or frame that will hold an item steady in any position, and will allow the object to be rotated 360 degrees through the x, y, or z axes.

The object's a small jar that's being engraved.

Thanks.

Maybe a ball swivel vise. Or jeweler's ball swivel vise (I'm not sure about the name, I'm just guessing). I know there's a ball swivel vise jewelers sometimes use.

We have one, but the only name we've ever heard for it is engraving vise (my husband's father was a jeweler). Puma

They're commonly called jeweler's vise or jeweler's ball vise.
