My spin is pretty much the opposite of Evil Editor's. I don't snark, I crit in a gentle, crooning voice that leaves authors with their flesh and hair intact.
So what the hell qualifies me to do this?
I've made a handful of fiction sales - which means I have some idea of what sells stories. I'm also a writing tutor at my college, and I actively study writing as an art.
So-- nothing! It's a peer crit in a public place. If you've seen the way I do this in SYW, you'll know that I'm competent. Or you'll hate my style and won't send me anything.
