Agorism FTW!
One letter at a time.

And yeah, the calf/calve thing was on purpose. For some reason it was funny to me at the time....
*Nods sagely* Sure it was, Willie. We know you'd never make such a spelling mistake by accident.

And is she going to share the cheese she makes out of the dairy from the cows?

I'll believe it when I see photographic evidence of Perks' shapely calves. Until then, it's all just a rumor!

Shapely? Maybe. Sore? Definitely. Wouldna risk searing them with a flashbulb just to prove I've got legs.

and if that doesn't get me out of posting leg pics, gimme a minute, I'll think of something else...

Ha! My car has a Toyota engine. It will far outlive my love for it. Oh wait... it already has. Let's just say that running a 10k is less jarring to the joints than a long highway run in my fabulous machine.

I just found out that people actually do this. It's a tactic to increase lung strength and efficiency.
I've got an old running book with a picture of people doing that. It's equivalent to running at high altitude where the air is less dense and has less oxygen.
I'm training for a half marathon in June. Hmmmmm. Maybe then I'll do pictures.
Where's the half? In Atlanta we have a half and full marathon every Thanksgiving, starting about 8AM. I ran the half in 1996. I was doing sprint tri's too, and did an Olympic distance in 1997. That was about the peak of my athletic career (so far).

I ran a mile a few months ago, then my knee started hurting for a few days. I haven't done anything since. Bicycling really helps strengthen the knees (which helps cancel out the pounding they get from running), but I haven't been doing that in the last year or two. I gotta join a gym and get in shape.

Yay Perks!

I won't make fun of you since I have my first 10k in May and my first half-marathon in June!

Some people like to run even though they're not being chased. :)

It's a good thing I'm not being chased because I run damned slow. :D

I run at mostly 2500ft. I wonder if that's good enough.
Where's the half?
It's in downtown Asheville, which isn't the best news. It's very hilly. I run three miles on a mountain twice a week, though, so it's not like I've never done it before. Just not for that long. I also do track interval training twice a week, balance training once a week, and two strength gym sessions each week.

Ha! We'll see how long I can keep this up.
