Here's one I forgot about that some of you might be interested in. It isn't an 'animal publication' but Grit publishes some animal/pet stories. The pay isn't much, but it would be a nice clip with a few $$. They also take fiction and poetry, so if you have stories/poems that feature animals, you might want to give them a shot.
The department for nonfiction pet stories is Little Friends/Best Friends. Pay is a flat fee of $20.00, upon publication. Here's the web site: http://www.grit.com
