Probably pathetic compared to most of you...

I just wanted to celebrate with you guys because today I realized I am actually on my fifth chapter. Throughout my earlier attempts, I barely got past my beginning, much less the climax.
If you're curious, it's because I bothered to outline this time. :X. Yeah, turns out I'm that kind of writer! I know where my story is going this time so I can set a goal.
I know, I know, five is not finished. Not even close. I'm closer than I have ever been though, and I'm excited

I owe a lot of it to you guys!

It's good to take pride in your accomplishments, even if you haven't reached your ultimate goal yet. If you've worked hard and written that much, then it's okay to give yourself a little pat on the back. Heck, we'll give you one too.

Way to go. One more step...try not to make statements like, "probably pathetic compared to most of you". There is no need to draw comparisons. Everybody works on their own path. There is no pathetic. Congrats and good luck getting to the end of that outline!

Wow! That is great. I mean the five chapters for sure, but the other, the discovering that you are an outline kind of writer. That's huge! Self-knowledge is the core to writing, whether we realize it or not. Self-knowledge doesn't have to be personally acknowledged. That's the cool thing about it.
