Yesterday, I was working on comments and suggestions a beta sent me. Becuase I had made several changes since I sent her my manuscript, I didn't use Track Changes as she did. Instead I had both the original and the beta version opened.I was somewhere around page 71, had inserted a few words as suggested, and deleted the words they replaced. Word continued to delete everything to the end of the novel and nothing I did would stop it. Word 2000 didn't give me the option of accepting or denying the changes. It saved the document and I ended up with 177KB instead of 567KB.Lucky for me, I'd backed up the document on CD the day before.What caused the glitch? Any idea? This is scary and a warning to back up edited documents every day.
