When did guys wear lots of lace? I know that happened at some point. And does anyone know any good resources for pictures of this kind of clothes? Thanks a lot.

Recently, during the Mod period of the sixties. Earlier, the 1600 and 1700's and maybe the first half of the 1800's, at least among the aristocracy.

1960s England. Mods (with frills) and Rockers (with leather).

Also the 1700s. French kings, American revolutionaries.

I had a lengthy discussion about present-day "puffy shirts" and what it says about the wearer with my local fashion expert. Even at goth or scene clubs, where clothing approaches costumery which is often vampire-inspired, a guy who wears a shirt as full as Seinfeld's, or one trimmed with lace, sporting a jabot, etc. is immediately presumed to be gay. About the only place a straight man can wear such an item is a RennFaire or similar re-enactment event--although our son reports he still gets hit on by guys when he wears his.

Maryn, who doesn't know if that helps the OP at all
