I'm taking my partner down to San Diego for her birthday this weekend. And we are going on big boats! (yes, I know, they are ships. but still! the word boats is more pleasing!) We are doing a whale-watching cruise on a motor yacht and then going to visit the world's oldest active ship, the (sail ing ship) Star of India. And the official tall ship of California, the Californian.
I love sailing. I have been on tiny little sailboats and small sailboats and hobie cats and trimarans and medium size sailboats, but I have never been on a great big sailboat! I'm super excited because my current novel WIP takes place on one (this one!). Yay! I hope the ship is overflowing with tiny little baby (sub)Plot Bunnies and other inspirational creatures!
There are other, less nerdy destinations planned for this trip as well, fear not.
