How about anything by Dan Hill? More like late 70's, but they still got airplay in the 80's. Sometimes When We Touch comes to mind.

I think "She Blinded Me With Science" is cheesy beyond belief. Not sure if it's the sort of thing you're looking for.

If you want something deliberately awful, Weird Al has a song called "I Wanna B Ur Lover" or something like that, which is basically a collection of the worst pickup lines he can get to rhyme. But I'm not sure I'd call it a love song. To me, it's always sounded more like an "Oh God, I'm in a bar and I'm getting hit on by That Guy" song.
