I recently installed Word 2006 and was having great luck with it until this morning. Every document is locked and I didn't do anything to lock them. I can't edit, copy or anything.
Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not familiar with Word 2006, but one trick someone taught me is to attempt to open a Word document using WordPad or NotePad, then saving it under another name.
I'll hang out while you try it, even though I'll probably just be keeping you company until somebody who knows something happens by.

...if you right click on the files and then click properties check to see that Read Only or Hidden aren't checked, by Attributes and also that Word is the program selected to open them with. If no go try Maryn's tips. Just don't do anything radical till someone knowledgable pops by. (hug)
Maryn, Ken thanks for your help. Turns out it's a system error and I have to uninstall and reinstall. 
I've already copied everything to disc just in case. Fingers crossed everything comes out okay.

I guess my original install and activation wasn't right so the system was reading my software as temporary test software and not installed
The uninstall and reinstall seemed to solve the problem. I'll know for certain after 25 uses. That's when the test software locks down.
