Hello fellow writers,

Our company is a publishing house that is launching a new magazine this year. We are looking for writers for our print and online editions. Fees are negotiable. We will get first print rights in US and owner will retain all rights thereafter. Please contact me via email for more information.

Have a wonderful and prosperous new year.

It would help us if you gave additional information. Do you want fiction or non-fiction? What subjects? What lengths? What don't you want? Got a website which includes submission guidelines?

As it is, you could easily get hard-core porn, horror, plays for children, emo poetry, and articles on insect control and decorating for Halloween--all in a single issue. Surely you don't want your time wasted with material you absolutely will not use--any more than we want to waste our time sending it to you.

Does the magazine have a name? Which publishing house?

A website with submission guidelines would help a lot.

Where is the email address you want to be contacted at?

You can go to the poster's user profile and send an e-mail from there.

Buy why would you give up your personal information for a post with so little information and a user with 2 posts?

I hate to be negative, but this strikes me as an email-address mining operation.

I have to agree. Notice that a name is never mentioned.

Ditto, ditto all the above, and IMO it makes no sense for a "company/magazine" to ask writers to contact them at a personal email address.

*nods sagely* (Why do we not have that as an emoticon?)

I smell a rat. There was barely any info provided. At the very least, a company name and website link with additional details should have been provided.

I doubt they will add more, or ever be seen here again.

Given that a brief search reveals the same request in the non-paying forum.....

Mzhaley,

I have to say that even though I like to give the benefit of the doubt, it would really help if you came out wit more information.

Thanks
