SMALL GAME Squirrel (fox, red, gray): Aug. 23-Feb. 28, 2009. Bag limit 10.
Spring squirrel (2009): May 9-June 14. Bag limit 10.
Grouse: Oct. 11-Feb. 28, 2009 (closed West of I-65). Bag limit three.
Rabbit: Nov. 8-Feb. 28, 2009. Bag limit five.
Quail: Nov. 8-Feb. 28, 2009. Bag limit six.
Armadillo, beaver, coyote, English sparrow, groundhog, nutria, pigeon, starling, striped skunk: Open year-round. No limit.
Bobcat, fox, mink, muskrat, otter, spotted skunk, weasel: Nov. 21-Feb. 15, 2009. No limit.
Raccoon and opossum: Nov. 7- Feb. 15, 2009. Bag limit for raccoons is two per night. Opossums may be taken during raccoon season (no limit).
MIGRATORY BIRDS
Dove: Sept. 1-26; Oct. 11-26; Dec. 19-Jan. 15, 2009. Bag limit 15 per day for all three season splits.
Woodcock: Oct. 25-Dec. 8. Bag limit three.
Wilson snipe: Nov. 14-Feb. 28, 2009. Bag limit eight.
Crow: June 1-Feb. 28, 2009. Hunting allowed on Friday-Sunday. No limit.
Early Canada goose: Sept. 1-15. Bag limit five.
Early wood duck/teal: Sept. 13-17. Bag limit four.
Ducks and mergansers: Statewide Zone: Nov. 28-Jan. 25, 2009; Reelfoot Zone: Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 29-Jan. 25, 2009. Youth seasons: Statewide Zone: Jan. 31-Feb. 1, 2009; Reelfoot Zone: Feb. 7-8, 2009. Daily bag limit of six ducks may include no more than four mallards (one hen), three wood ducks, two redheads, one black duck, one pintail and one scaup. Daily bag limit for merganser is five, only two of which can be hooded mergansers.
Canvasback: Season is closed for 2009.
Canada geese: Statewide Zone: Oct. 4-11 and Nov. 28-Jan. 30, 2009; Northwest Zone: Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 29-Feb. 8, 2009. Bag limits vary per zone and for season splits. Contact TWRA for specific information.
Snow, blue, Ross geese: Nov. 24-Feb. 8, 2009. Conservation order: Feb. 9-March 10, 2009. Electronic calls and unplugged shotguns will be allowed during the conservation order season, and there will be no daily bag limit.
