I posted this in the Historical Fiction section, too.

Does anybody know of a reference site with a detailed diagram of a four-in-hand carriage's traces? I've Googled my fingers to nibs, and haven't found much. I need to know what a specific group of parts are called, but have no clue what they're called.

Can anybody help?

I assume you know the general terms traces, doubletrees, reins, and harnesses and what each of them are.

I've been to that page, and part of the problem is when you enlarge it, the diagram becomes less legible. Also, those are a different set of traces. There is a set without the main lead bar...

I appreciate the help. And I thought of something I didn't before: cross-referencing a search.

Thanks.

I'm no expert myself. I just know what the main parts are.

I assumed that if that diagram was printed it would be readable. I didn't try it however.
