Corrupt politicians
Talking on the news
Knocking on your door
This is ridiculous
You canít take anymore
Guilt trips leading to LSD trips
Not much left to live for
Strange place to be
The gambling man is rich
While the working man is poor

Nowhere to go
Hop on a bike
Take off on down the road
Get out of the city by any means
Wherever you go
Chaotic propaganda in the newspapers and magazines
No escape?
This your fate?

No day of mourning here for our earthly god
Money more important to the puppet businessmen
To the politicians who hold the reins
To the politicians who go to pains
Not to ensure the safety of the people
To insure them, contracting in riddles
Insurance, money there
They need the money
But we donít care

Seven days, seven nights
Mercedes limousine cruising on down the road
Guarded by crooked cops bending their upholstery
With all their might
Limousine harbouring a criminal
Thatís a heavy load
Five cops the minimum
Canít have any Tom Joad

Front-page news
Fancy names for thugs
Gangsters dressed in suits
Motivational speeches
Stay in school
Thatís the golden rule
Lack of funds,
Close down the hospitals and schools
Build houses for their political tools

Indoctrinating the masses
Spitting on the lower classes
They are better than you
Theyíre sipping champagne
Your hunting for food
Theyíre speeches seem crystal
Your ideas look crude
Need something to lighten your load
Something to lighten your mood.

Thereís nothing out there.
