Novel writing software wanted, free download

Hi there everyone,

Is there a free download for novel writing? Not just a flashcard sort of program to track your notes, but something that will let me know if I used a word too many times and offer an alternative or something like that. Is there any out there?

In most word processing software you can do a "find all" and it will tell you how many times it found (you've used) the word. For example, in Word it's Shift + F5.

In Open Office it's CRTL + F

My computer replacement should be here any minute (stupid fedex has had it on their truck since 7am...it's on overnight delievery...but fedex has had it for for two and a half days). My plan (after I balance the checkbook) is to install it.

Until then I'm on 4 still.
