I couldn't figure out which forum this would belong in, so I'll just put it in OP and let a mod move it if necessary.

Can anyone recommend a good book on dreams? I'm looking for something with more of a scientific/psychological bent rather than a mystical/spiritual one.

Thanks in advance!

Yes! "The Promise of Sleep" by William C. Dement. He was my professor. He used to teach a wildly popular class called "Sleep and Dreams" (and before every lecture he would play "Dreamweaver" by Gary Wright or "In the Middle of the Night" by Billy Joel). It was famous for being the only class at Stanford in which you could receive extra credit if the prof caught you sleeping in class:) He discovered REM sleep and he knows more about sleep than anyone, ever. A big chunk of the book is about dreams and the purpose of sleep. I can't recommend it enough!
