For some reason my private email (not here), is flashing on and off. Can you smart tech. folks let me know what's going on with it. Do I have a computer ghost?

Flashing is generally a notification. Sometimes it is indicating a new message; sometimes a failure of the program.
Put your mouse over the flashing icon and wait a moment. A pop up window may appear with more information.
Or, tell it to put its clothes back on and go about its bidness.
