yawn... in da land of the terminally bored.
You’re hosting a dinner party. You can invite eight guests. Who would be on your ‘A’ list?

Mine – in no particular order of importance would be:

Galileo Galilei
Cole Porter
Truman Capote
Nelson Mandela
Abraham Lincoln
Jonathan Swift
Nicolaus Copernicus
Charles Darwin

Now, all I gotta do is plan the menu

Aren't you guys a little one-sided on the sex thing? (Except for donroc). I mean, give me a break! Surely you can come up with a more feminine dinner companion who stimulates conversation. At the very least, pick a woman you'd like to look at. Sheesh!

I did both, Liz Tudor for brains and with hope she did have Bette Davis' eyes, and Jersey Lil for charm and conversation.

An evenly matched table...except you make a 5th man.

I'd love to have Billy Connelly at the table.

The business end of a habanero pepper IV
Francis Crick & Rosalind Franklin (should be quite a row)
Dorothy Parker & Hannibal Lecter (I suspect they'd hit it off)
Stephen King & Robert Heinlein (always wanted to meet them)
Luc Besson & Joss Whedon (i, fanboy)

ETA: I wanted Billy Connely, but he already had plans

My great-great grandmother, a Catawba indian, on my mother's father's side
My great grandmother, who ran a bordello with her mother, on my mother's mother's side
Eleanor Roosevelt
Thomas Hardy
King David (yes - the Biblical one - I'd ask him about his affairs)
Jon Stewart (comic relief and I think he's brilliant)
John Cleese (he's my favorite Python)
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

OK - that's 5 men, and 4 women including myself :)

That'll have to wait for my next dinner for eight.
