What decade are we in?

Ha! Good question. I was wondering that the other day myself!

We're in the Noughties.

No.

Zero = nought.

I say 'noughties'. Because it sounds like we're claiming to be naughty...but not quite.

We're not in the tens, because that would be the teens 2011, 2012, 2013 etc.

I've yet to see a definitive answer to this, though SP's "noughties" might be it.

It's just now. Though, to be honest, until it's past, there hardly seems much need to classify it as a group. Wait till VH1 comes out with their 'I love the...' and we'll have our definitive answer. I didn't talk about the 90s until it was done. Right now, it's just now, 2008 (almost 2k9).

Though, I do rather like the "Noughties" it's just naughty enough. =)

I wonder what historical moniker this delightful economic situation will someday get...

As in, I aughta rewrite my novel.

I aughta finish my other novel.

I aughta BIC.

We could call it the hundreds. I realize that encompasses the entire twenty-first century, but to me it's the logical addition to 80's, 90's, 100's...

When we refer to 1903 and such, don't we usually call it the turn of the century? Maybe that's the term?
