This is a couple of years old now, but it's the first time I've seen it. The colour codes on the internet map correspond to:

Dark blue: net, ca, us
Green: com, org
Red: mil, gov, edu
Yellow: jp, cn, tw, au, de
Magenta: uk, it, pl, fr
Gold: br, kr, nl
White: unknown

From the description: "Each line is drawn between two nodes, representing two IP addresses. The length of the lines are indicative of the delay between those two nodes. This graph represents less than 30% of the Class C networks reachable by the data collection program in early 2005."

I imagine AW to be one of the threads of green that run through the image. :)

Does it remind anyone else of the human brain?

It reminds me of a map of the universe. Those bright clusters of 'unknown' stars amid all these possible filamentary routes, which are the lanes space ships use. :)

White? Parallel universe(s)? Maybe?

I was going to say--the shopping zone is too big. Though, honestly, my brain looks far more male than female from those diagrams.

My colorblindness took over and it just looked like an X-ray of an axon.

Yeah - the chocolate center should be taking up at least half the brain. The other half, at least in my case, is reserved for music, writing and turning all manner of innocent remarks into innuendos when they're not - all interconnected, apparently.

And that internet map looks like a Spirograph design to me. (Anyone else remember those things?)
