Personally, I think it's taking our fear of death a little too far. Even if you've got an incurable disease, and sometime in the future they could and would wake you up and cure you (and as Roger says, why would they), you're still eventually going to end up dead.
Because the primary cause of death is birth. And since you were born, you are going to die. 100% chance, no reprive. Why would you want to go through that twice?
As for living forever, think on this: Death is also the necessary precursor for birth. When we die, we make room for someone else. Otherwise, the world would become overpopulated even more quickly than it is becoming, and life would be miserable for everyone.
