View Full Version : European board games.

I've always had a bti of a fascination with designing board games. All the old standards we have here in the US just got old I guess.

I've recently been turned on to some of these European games, like Catan, Carcassonne, and a few others (especially Carcassonne.) There's some unique stuff out there.

Is anyone else into this stuff? Got any suggestions for other games to try?

Carcassone is way cool! Notice how in the instructions, if there is a tie, player rejoice in shared victory.

Compare that to Munchkin's explicit statement that disagreements should be settled with loud shouting matches and the owner of the game gets last say. (Love Munchkin, too, but I think it does exemplify many aspects of American game play. =)
