View Full Version : The "Sanatorium for SP" Thread

It's occurring more and more often these days.

I trip myself up, say something sensible and someone agrees with me. Clearly, the end is nigh.

But not right nigh. (*snerk*).

Until the other three horsemen appear, we need a quiet place for the gibbering wrecks who find themselves in the unenviable position of having agreed with me, to sit down, put their feet up and contemplate the long road back to sanity.

It happens to the best of us. Why, my last rep point comment reads:

Dear diary, agreed with scarletpeaches 110% today. Ragnarok imminent. Must remember to cancel the milk.
Mentioning no names *coughdpatersocough*

So allow one of our members of staff to direct you to your luxury 'hotel' room; all suites now have our trademark padded wallpaper. Nursey will be along in a moment to give you your medication.

slabdenobick bing bing......hold my carving pen whilst I check the polarity of this wallpaper won'st you?! Are you done eating that clipboard??

I have never, in my entire time here, agreed with something SP has said.

I want that to be clear to everyone involved.

Never ever have we agreed.

We hate each other with a passion unequalled in the annals of time.

Thank you. You may now return to your regularly scheduled thread.

*checks to see if he spelled annals right, because a typo there could be embarrassing*

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 06:36 PM
What about that time you said-

Nonevermind.

Shadow_Ferret
11-26-2008, 06:36 PM
I never said that.

And you promised you'd never repeat it in public.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 06:37 PM
I didn't.

But you never said it anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Shadow_Ferret
11-26-2008, 06:40 PM
Um.

Right. ;)

Susie

I have to admit it - I did agree with SP in the whatcha thread, for the first time, and it was a very serious subject - chocolate. :D I feel better now for having told.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 06:48 PM
Oh no! Now Susie's caught the SP madness, who will dish out chocolate at dinner time?

Meerkat
11-26-2008, 06:51 PM
Chocolate too? Jeez, you had me at "sanatorium!'

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 06:52 PM
And we have Jack Daniel's on tap.

kristie911
11-26-2008, 06:53 PM
I may have agreed with SP on occasion but I'm just here because medication was promised.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 06:55 PM
*hands kristie some chocolate laced with prozac*

Williebee
11-26-2008, 06:58 PM
prozac? Did you know that when you buy in bulk they send you a free coffee cup?

:)

I think I agreed with Peaches before she left.

Or did I agree with Peaches leaving?

Either way, I think I need medicating.

NeuroFizz

I'm just curious...what color horse did Gabby Hayes ride?

(I think Scarlet is searching for a sidekick...)

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 08:39 PM
It was invisible.

mscelina
11-26-2008, 08:43 PM
*wanders in with a medical mask on*

I feel compelled to mention here that a 'sanitorium' is a hospital for long-term medical care, specifically communicative diseases such as tuberculosis, whereas a 'sanitarium' is a hospital for long-term psychiatric care.

*grin*

Either way, I guess I'm not eligible for admission now.

*flees the thread with her dictionary, laughing the whole way*

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 08:48 PM
I think you'll find I know that, and went for 'a' as it's a hospickle, rather than 'i' which suggests a more laidback approach to medical care. In fact one site described a sanitarium as closer to a spa than a medical facility!

mscelina
11-26-2008, 08:50 PM
*looks confused*

But you went for 'o' ...

ETA: ah, I see. You're talking about the 'sana' part and I'm talking about the 'torium' part. *scratches head again* You know, I think those darn Victorians did this crap on purpose.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 08:51 PM
I always go for the 'O'. ;)

Ohh...wait...

You meant sanatorium/sanitarium/sanitorium.

Right.

mscelina
11-26-2008, 08:52 PM
Well, hell. Now it's not as funny. Crap.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 08:54 PM
Agree with me or get out of this thread, damn you!!!

Meerkat
11-26-2008, 08:58 PM
Either way it's spelled, we still get those snug, bounce off the wall jackets, right?

Ol' Fashioned Girl
11-26-2008, 08:58 PM
No.

Williebee
11-26-2008, 08:59 PM
I'm a puffy cloud.

Pass the bottle?

Ol' Fashioned Girl
11-26-2008, 08:59 PM
Agree with me or get out of this thread, damn you!!!

The 'no' I posted above was for you.

mscelina
11-26-2008, 08:59 PM
Agree with me or get out of this thread, damn you!!!

No.

:tongue

amok amok amok amok. amok amok amok amok.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:00 PM
Well. How did I know this thread would be a shambles by page two?

Oh that's right - because I started it.

mscelina
11-26-2008, 09:09 PM
No, because the rest of us found it quickly.

*whew! almost agreed accidentally. I'm on to your little tricks*

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:13 PM
What? I never did nuffin'! I'm innocent, I tells ya - innocent!

NeuroFizz

What? I never did nuffin'! I'm innocent, I tells ya - innocent!
That tosses agreement out the window for good.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:17 PM
I have been known to say the occasional sensible thing with which normal people would agree.

NeuroFizz
11-26-2008, 09:18 PM
normal people
That locks the window behind it.

mscelina
11-26-2008, 09:19 PM
No you haven't.

*ah. This is getting easier*

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:20 PM
I disagree with myself. Therefore I must be right.

mscelina
11-26-2008, 09:22 PM
scarlet, that quote boggles. It really does. let me call Freud up to decipher it for me.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:23 PM
It's probably some sort of penis envy.

mscelina
11-26-2008, 09:24 PM
*must. not. agree.*

Nah. I'm thinking it was all about my mother.

NeuroFizz
11-26-2008, 09:24 PM
I disagree with myself. Therefore I must be right.
Then, how do you reach the "O" you "tossed" about earlier? It's not about being right, it's about being right-minded. (Pushing the Freud thing...)

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:25 PM
Or right handed.

NeuroFizz
11-26-2008, 09:26 PM
ambidexterity a trois

Shadow_Ferret
11-26-2008, 09:26 PM
Either way it's spelled, we still get those snug, bounce off the wall jackets, right?
I got mine. Yours didn't arrive yet?

Hmm.

Which spelling allows you use of your right hand? 'Cause that's which 'rium I want...

mscelina
11-26-2008, 09:29 PM
No clue.

But right now, we're all contagious just because we hang out in this thread.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:29 PM
Bunny cooties!

mscelina
11-26-2008, 09:30 PM
Hmm....where's Quick Wit when I need him?

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:31 PM
Tied to a bed in the room with the padded wallpaper and lifetime's supply of prozac-laced chocolate.

NeuroFizz

I'm going blind to the truth...

scarletpeaches

*insert your pwn punchline about hairy hands here*

Williebee
11-26-2008, 09:32 PM
Bunny cooties!

I hear you get those from coot bunnies.

Before we go to the sanity-rium, can we stop by the deli-rium? It's lunch time.

NeuroFizz
11-26-2008, 09:33 PM
BTW, this is why mantyhose will never catch on... errrr it will catch on... oh, what a snag. Never mind.

scarletpeaches
11-26-2008, 09:34 PM
You'll turn into a transvestite if you stay in this thread, Fizzypants. Hell, you're already wearing guyliner...

NeuroFizz
11-26-2008, 09:36 PM
Will not!

mscelina
11-26-2008, 09:38 PM
Transvestite? Where?

MaryMumsy
11-27-2008, 02:04 AM
And we have Jack Daniel's on tap.

Free Jack Daniel's?? Where? Where? Count me in.

thethinker42
11-27-2008, 04:00 AM
Well, I see no reason for ME to post anything in this thread. The only thing I agree with you on is the smexiness of the Brothers Leto.

And Colin Farrell.

And Darren Hayes.

And...

Nevermind.

thethinker42
11-27-2008, 04:01 AM
*seriously tempted to hijack this thread into something writing-related, just for irony's sake...*

Yeshanu
11-27-2008, 10:33 AM
Nevermind.

Right. That just about describes sp's state of being. :tongue

Bmwhtly
11-27-2008, 01:41 PM
Then, how do you reach the "O"Start off by setting the mood with some candles.

SPMiller

I came in here wondering if this thread were about me. Which wasn't implausible, given my tenuous grip on reality.

Henceforth, I propose everyone call me by my first name, which is Sean. Thank you.

So, this is a sanctorum?

Susie
11-28-2008, 05:23 AM
Oh no! Now Susie's caught the SP madness, who will dish out chocolate at dinner time?
