I stopped counting at four rejections today. Four. Every time I received one, I sent it right back out. Bam! Bam! More came in.

That's it. I need chocolate and a break. My cheerfulness is waning.

Oh Diane,

I'm so sorry to hear that. Here's nice comfy chair by the fire, a nice warm cup of tea, a good book, and a yummy melt-in-your-mouth chocolate eclair. Have a lovely afternoon refilling your well.

Take good care,
Chacounne

I heartily recommend Hershey's Kisses, dark. *crinkle, crinkle, chomp*

Thanks for the Godiva chocolate! I have NO CHOCOLATE IN THE HOUSE! Can you believe it? Well, I have baking cocoa, so I made a little cake...it will be done in 3 min., 35 sec. 34, 33, 32...

I appreciate the hugs and affection! You guys make it easier for me to go back to the drawing board! :)

Eek, Diane -- four-plus rejections, AND no chocolate? That's more than any human being should have to bear...

((Jackie passes the virtual chocolates))

Aww. I confess that I sometimes send things to 'easy' markets just to get a positive response. A slew of rejections can be a real downer...

Try Nutella. You might actually almost welcome rejections as an excuse to buy the stuff.

 I love the stuff so much I don't buy it!! I'd eat the whole thing all at once!

But here, Thistle, *hands thistle a dark chocolate Dove square* I got these for mother's day, but I'll share with you! (((hugs)))

Oooh. Dark chocolate Dove. Mmm. Melts in the mouth. Thanks, Lucky Penny! I appreciate the Nutella suggestion, too!

I took the day off today and enjoyed a nice romance novel instead of turning on my computer. I just turned it on 15 minutes ago and...guess what? Another rejection. This one was kind and encouraged me to submit again, so I'm not as bummed.

I'll start fresh on the writing tomorrow. Maybe I just needed a break.

BTW, the chocolate cake was good. Thanks, everyone, for being so kind! :)

Peanut M&Ms

What? No one mentioned peanut M&Ms! C'mon, they're the perfect food -- little protein peanut in the middle -- you can have them for dinner and get away with it (well, sorta ... good for a Dinner of Despair, like when you've received too many rejection letters).

Have you heard about the new dark M&M's? Can't wait to try them!!!

Oh, yes, Saritams8. I bought a bag of "dark side" M&M's for my husband. They are a promotion for the new Star Wars movie. Great marketing--I certainly bought a bag.

Lovely dark chocolate with peanuts. They're sponsored by the M-pire! Ha! I'd go to the dark side anytime for those lovely chocolates! :)

I think I gained about 4 lbs reading this thread, but oddly enough, I feel better. Must be those endorphins at work.
