Not a possum. Note the furry tail in the "found" pictures?

Years ago we had a possum who'd come up every night for snacks. I named him Rupert. I kind of miss that guy. He was pretty darn cute.

Its sort of cute, whatever it is.

This reminds me of those 2 urban legends:

-artistically shaved sheep sold for a high price as poodles by a scam-artist.

-a couple who rescued a 'drowning little dog', fed it, looked after it, finally took it to the vet...who killed it, then informed them it was a sewer rat.

No idea if any of these are actually true!

Ah! Possums are different down under. Who knew?

Are they still good with turnip greens and cornbread?

Reg beat me to it, but I take it you never heard of brush tail possums :) In fact, I think only the US types have bald tails.

I think o'possums are only indiginous to the U.S.

Since that's Australia, maybe it is a bushbaby or something.

O'possum, yes. Possum? no.

Isn't possum high in cholesterol?

Only if they dine on McD's daily.

:D

Also, what kinda of nut can check an animal for the particular parts but can't realize there are more than cats and dogs running around? Sheesh.

all this talk about possums reminds me of the book possum magic.

it's also the nickname my mum calls my friends when she can't remember their names

Brush tails are as big as cats, and like to scab cat food, but they're more rodent-like than cat-like. And when they wander off into the night... that arse wiggle. LOL!

We had a family of possums who used to terrorise us. You'd swear a bunch of blokes were running across our roof when they were playing.

I sent that photo to they guys I work with. One of them was kidding the other - "Yeah, that's you, totally you."

To which he replies, "What? First you say I'm old, now you say I'm not housebroken?!"

...just as our boss walked back in.

I have not laughed so hard in ages.

(Our boss thought it was hysterical, BTW....)

LOL,...arse wiggles...

Yeah, we think we have a pregnant possum on our roof, she has a big bushy tail and she's bigger then our cats, but our youngest cat still tries to chase it, he'll sit on the patio directly under where she sits on the top of the roof and waits for her to come down, but the clever thing never moves.

How any idiot can mistake that for a cat is beyond me!

But if you want to befriend one, I believe roses are the way to its heart. Not that you would want to, unless you don't like sleeping very much. And they stink to high heaven, too.
