Sometimes, just sometimes, it's the classic jokes that make me crack up.

I've seen this movie, what, maybe 15 times in the last 20 or so years since it came out, but I was watching it last night, and there's just a couple of zingers that tickled me into laughing out loud.

They're lost in the desert of vega, and the dinks find them... Lonestar wakes up, sees all of them and says "When did we get to disneyland?" -- I don't know why. At one in the morning after a hard day of nanoing, that was damned funny.

And the scene with the singing and dancing chest-burster made me fall out of my chair when I first saw it in theaters... it's still one of the most singularly funny images in cinematic history... when he places his straw hat on his head.

And the entire "going plaid" scene slays me every time. "MY BRAINS ARE BEING SUCKED INTO MY FEET!"

Man that's good stuff.

What about the constant producet placement?

Spaceball II: The Search For More Money

I heard Brooks is working on adapting it into an animated series.

I love everything Mel Brooks. It's funny you zeroed in on this one because I'm not sure it's his best. But a good flick nonetheless.

I was talking about this movie today. I was maybe eight years old the first time I saw it. I knew it was funny, but I wasn't sure why all of it was funny. When I watched it again as a teenager, I found the funny. Things like "she's gone from suck to blow" make a lot more sense when you're eighteen.....

Love. This. Movie.

Bill Pullman rocks all kinds of awesome.

Best. Movie. Ever. My favourite scene is the Surrounded by Assholes scene, among others. Blazing Saddles is a close second. Oh, and History of the World Part I. I wish there was a Part II.

A little left of right.
Out of order?!? ****!! Even in the future, nothing works!!

I love that line. :) It reminds me of my computer some days ...

Evil will always triumph because good is dumb!

... ... I love Spaceballs ... but Men in Tights is even better. (Let's get out of these ladies' clothes and into our tights!) ... ah, good times, good times.

The colonel sanders, chicken bit is perfect, and Moranis has never been in finer form (except, of course, as the keymaster).

My favorite line isn't necessarily the funniest one, but it's so true of these movies. "We're not just doing this for money... We're doing it for a sh*tload of money!"

Never underestimate the power of the Schwartz!

Extra hilarity with translators trying to define what the hell Schwartz is. The Latin American translation has it as "Softness", the subtitled one I saw as a kid has it as "Balls" and another one (I think it was a VH-1 clip) has it as "Money"

Who could forget Dark Helmet watching himself watching himself watching himself[...] after renting the film. :D

Everyone knows I always have my Mr. Coffee before watching radar!

Yes sir! (while covering their own uh, 'schwartzes')

But of course he had no bagels for the raspberry jam. Poor Dark Helmet.

Sorry, fans, but I didn't find this movie funny at all. I considered all the jokes as stale, done before, juvenile, and lame.

Of course I have a deathly fear of Joan Rivers. I had a horrible nightmare in which she had a prominent role, so that could be part of why I didn't like the movie.

If I'd known she was in it, I would never have watched it in the first place.

Aw, come on, you can't tell me you didn't laugh at the radar jam!!

Actually, I was the only one in my family who got all of the jokes (except for the Colonel Sanders one). Most of them were word-play and, well, my family doesn't have as much vocabulary as I do, and the subtitles never do the movie any justice. That sucks :(

If I told you about my Joan Rivers nightmare, you might understand why I didn't find it funny.

I was freaked out the whole time I watched the movie.

I've seen her current face and heard her voice, I can relate--which is why she was most likely hidden behind some metal.

I wanna know how they trained the bear to use the escape pod.
