There's an article by Charline Profiri at the Institute of Children's Literature - a step-by-step "how to" on writing non-fiction articles for children.

Her choice is the profile/interview category because it doesn't "...require much research."

You're very welcome, Radhika.

I'm sure we've heard the advice of reading local newspapers to garner advice for articles/stories and so on, but I just never put it all together: calling the reporter; speaking to the parents first; the release template; etc.

The author generously gives other writers a checklist which leads to publication.
