Just finished the first major revision of my novel tonight.
In the process, I've cut out three chapters, 30,000 words, and an uncounted amount of garbage and broken structure. The structure isn't all the way there yet, but I at least feel fairly confident that it's supporting the bulk of the weight.
This is a major milestone for me, since this is the first time I've felt like a novel draft has been worth the effort to revise.
Next -- send it off to beta readers and stick it in a drawer for a couple of months.
Woo!
