Anyone know of any good OCR programs - the kind where you scan in pages and it converts it to text without you having to type it all up?

I've got hundreds of pages of text - all in Courier - and while my HP scanner's OCR never worked well, that was ten years ago, and I was hoping there was something out there now, but haven't been able to find much that's well-reviewed.

My HP Officejet is about four years old and scans whatever I put on the glass regardless of text style. It has fun with hand-written notes, though.

Have you checked out the HP site to see if there are updates to the scanner you have?

I've had some really good success scanning pages using the Microsoft Document Imaging Scanner (Hidden in the Microsoft Office Tools in the Programs Menu) It would get nearly all the words right, with only smudges or the edges of pages that I couldn't get to lay flat on my little Canoscan scanner.

Thanks, I'll definitely check into those.
