SO, I am a member of a social group. And I have just taken over the responsibility for our small library of reference books. The previous librarian was very diligent and input all the books into Microsoft Access. Great, right? Wrong. I do not have Microsoft Access, nor do I know how to use it, nor do I want to learn how to use it. Then another person has written a guide for managing one of our events and wrote the guide in Microsoft Publish. Great, right? Wrong. I do not have Microsoft Publish, I do not know how to use it, nor do I want to learn how to use it just to read the MotherF***ing guide. Grrrrr. Why can't people use basic programs that the majority of people probably have on their computers and are familiar with? Especially for things that are going to get passed on to someone else?????? Is that too much to ask???
If you're never going to share the file with someone, then go ahead and using MS Office for Siberians. But Jiminy Christmas, if you are going to share it or pass on your work, then use a program that most people have.
