I got a whole bunch this year, and I want to wear them every day like regular clothes. Why not? Who's with me?

I've got:

1) Marie Antoinette mini-dress
2) Robin (Batman's sidekick) mini-dress
3) Fairy Princess
4) Alice in Wonderland Pinup outfit
5) Sailor pinup dress
6) Carhop pinup dress
7) Bloody Prom dress

What do you have this year?

I've had the opposite thing happen. More than once I've gotten dressed up for Halloween and had absolutely nobody realize I was in costume. Now considering I was dressed as Cyndi Lauper one time it happened....

I think the only time anyone would think I was in costume is if I wore my interview suit or something.

For one mad moment I was thinking of dressing up as Jimmy Page circa Outrider - I have a pinstriped suit similar to the one he wore in some of the promo pics - however, he is tall, think and decidedly boyish and I am sort, curvy and well - decidedly not at all boyish...

Hmmm. I have a plaid skirt. I could do sort of a schoolgirl outfit, I guess - but that would probably end up being another case of nobody realizing it was supposed to be a costume.

I save all my costume bits and pieces and then when I have my annual Halloween party, the house rule is that if you don't come in costume, you have to wear something out of the Magic Box.

Guests can find themselves dressed as anything from a caveman to a geisha to Pam Anderson. It's even more fun when we mix-n-match.

My daughter is going to be something like Mad Alice in Wonderland. She came home one day wearing a blonde wig and I thought she had dyed her hair. It looked very realistic.

Yes, my daughter loves Halloween as much as I do. Her dad just thinks both of us are insane.

WANT.

Yeah, it's totally hot. I am trying to find a green corset and purple plaid mini-skirt to do a female Joker costume, but I can't find anything.

Sadly, without mattering how much I would love to get dressed as Sweeney Todd, Halloween isn't celebrated here so I would end up institutionalized or with a bunch of kids asking to take pictures to me.

And in Carnival they throw water balloons at Halloween, so, bad idea too...

I might go as a psychopath.

So a nice three piece suit for me. I'll take an axe just to make sure no one mistakes me for Bond.

I was pondering this today - it's been a couple of years since I did anything for Halloween. Something easy but recognizable, less cheesy is better, and anything from a Halloween mega store is pure manufactured crap. I want originality!

Last time I was Captain Crunch, but I looked more like Max's avatar...

I was going to wear a t-shirt with rhinestone pumkins. Too much? (heh)

We're having a party since we didn't get any trick or treaters last year except two teens who looked like they were unsure they should be trick or treating. So we're decorating the house, not ourselves. I know patti, I know.

I tend to have a good costume once every three years or so.

I'm kinda mad this year. I finally move to a house where we're sure to get trick or treaters and what happens??? MY STORE HAS ME SETTING UP A FREAKING AD THAT NIGHT!

I am so bummed... :e2bummed:

I'm planning to be Minnie Mouse to make my daughter love me more. ;) She's crazy about Minnie!

And she's going to be a peacock. If I can ever find orange tights. I think I might have to dye some.

My daughter was a peacock when she was 3 and we still have a really great plume from the costume. PM me if you want it.

Last year I wore Ol' Boy's Ring and when someone asked me why I didn't dress up, I said, "But I did."

"Well... uh... what are you?"

"A Ringbearer."

I give you purple plaid miniskirt (http://www.amazon.com/Laced-Pleated-Plaid-Mini-Skirt/dp/B000V3II5K) [alternate (http://www.babygirlboutique.com/purple-petticoat-skirt.html)] and green corset (http://www.ohcheri.com/te91035-red-green-corset-p-794.html).

I love halloween! If I was just .0005% geekier I would be a cosplayer, but as it is I only dress up once a year. Last year I made costumes: my partner went as El Tigre and I went as his sidekick Frida (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Tigre:_The_Adventures_of_Manny_Rivera) (latino western superhero themed cartoon characters if you were wondering). The year before, I made original costumes and we went as sort of people who had turned into monsters, with horns and wings and tails and such coming out of our clothes. Loads of people were stopping us so they could take out picture. Every year we go to the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval (http://www.westhollywoodhalloween.com/). It's like the biggest Halloween party in the world! Half a million people go to it (though we try to leave before they ALL get there!). We take candy along and hand it out to the kids, it's sort of reverse trick-or-treating...and great fun.

This year, I'm making costumes again. I'm going as an evil goth fairy. My partner is going as Storm from the X-Men (one of the comic book versions, not the weak-sauce movie version). I'll post photos when I finish sewing them...

Oh yeah! And I am making a Silk Spectre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silk_Spectre) costume (comic version not movie version, Laurie Juspeczyk not Sally Jupiter) for my friend. Oh, so much sewing to do!

Since you asked Ben.. here's my daughter's costume - Wednesday Aadams. It was a lot easier than last years kangaroo that I sewed!

We just watched the Aadams family movies. There was a Halloween scene in the 1st one. She's dying for someone to ask who she is (like in the movie) so she can say "I'm a homicidal maniac. They look just like everyone else".

Um.....I was thinking flapper...but since it's a Halloween Party with my boss and his friends, who I don't know....what are the chances I will have a look-a-like?
I would like to go as Krishna.......but I'm a girl soooooo.....maybe a Greek Goddess?
I could do a Hindu Goddess, but I don't know where I would get another set of arms. ;)
I'm making my own outfit on a very short notice, so I don't have very many options.

Kitty - thanks!
Sunny... I tried the flapper thing. Made my own costume w/ fringes... looked like a hooker.
Tried the french maid thing... looked like a hooker.
Tried the french dancing girl thing... looked like a ... you get my drift.
I gave up - went for trampy firefighter...trampy cave girl..
2 years ago I finally gave up & wore a foam nightstand & a lamp shade & went as "one night stand".

I'm really not a tramp....I swear :)

Right.... I have a friend sending me links.....to outfit ideas.
I am like: too short, need a pole for that one, need a $$ garter on my thigh for that one....I don't think my boss wants to see my tonsils if I bend over in that one.....NEXT.

You get my drift.
I have a satin gold bed sheet I never use.....don't ask me why.
It's just in the linen closet, along with a white satin pillowcase.
I also have some left over Christmas ribbon...I think I can pull of some kind of "Goddess" outfit by Saturday night.

I thought it would be fun to go as a Red Jaguar from Legends of the Hidden Temple (it's amazing how strong nostalgia is), but there were issues with that. a) I couldn't order the t-shirt in time. b) My boyfriend likes the Blue Barracudas. :P

This year for Halloween, I'm dressing up as a crotchety writer who answers the doorbell with a BB gun.

sounds good Pagey's girl, but you might think of adding black t-shirt and jeans and going as either Syd or Nancy. Remember them?

Or better same jewelry and super spiffy evening dress. TFC (too fabulously cool). I'd go with the chocolate lipstick too, but I like goth.
