I haven't seen Craig as Bond yet, but aim to.
My favorite is Connery, of course.
Brosnan was very good.
I thought Lazenby was very good too - too easily overlooked. His role *had* to be different -- he played the Bond who fell in love.
I liked Moore for who he was - and, from the couple of Bond novels that I read, I thought Moore reflected the original Bond image very well. In the Fleming novels, Bond came across to me as a brand-conscious, cheesy lothario. That, he did well.
Timothy Dalton? Didn't care for his rendition at all. Too belligerent, not cool enough by half.
And yeah, that original Casino Royale was a mess. Was Terry-Thomas in it, or am I confusing it with It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World? (Which is not the stretch that it might sound.)
