I am torn between Sean and Daniel. I like the edgier Bond, and I really like that Craig's bond uses his wits instead of relying on fanciful gadgets.

Sean made the character come alive. He is the standard by which all Bonds will be judged.

BTW: really glad you remembered Niven. Most don't even know he did a bond.

I like Sean but am open to Daniel Craig taking over the Best Bond title after another movie or two, he's awesome.

As for David Niven, I LOVED him. So cool. A class act:

Perhaps one of Niven's finest moments came when he had to present the 46th Annual Oscars ceremony, and a naken man appeared behind him, running across the stage. Not to be outclassed or nonplussed even for a moment, Niven came back with the one liner:

"Isn't it fascinating to think, that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in his life, is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings!"

Sean Connery and Daniel Craig are very different Bonds, but they both kick ass. I'll give Craig bonus points because there were so many things against him and they proved them all wrong.

Roger Moore was the worst. Bond. Ever. Some liked his humor, but I just didn't buy it -- and I was just a kid. He looked and acted more like a car salesman to me.

Roger Moore ran across alligators. I don't care that everyone else in the world loved Connery. Moore's movies were better. Plus alligators, so there.

ETA: I don't care that he was a creepy, sex-crazed, hair-dying, cologne-wearing old dude. Moore. Live and Let Die.

Connery is Bond. Brosnan was a runner up. Dalton was way down on the bottom of the charts. I think Craig is bringing those rough edges back to Bond which Connery already had in the character. I remember watching Connery as a kid and being all confused 'cause he smacked his women around and yet he could eat crackers in my bed any time.

I was torn between Connery and Craig but voted Craig in the end.

Sean was awesome as Bond but Craig seems more "Bond-like". He's rougher and edgier. I love him. He brought me back to the Bond movies.

Pierce Brosnan gets my vote for worst Bond ever. Way too smarmy. Ick.

Sean Connery for being Sean Connery. That against which all future Bonds will be measured. However, for general yumminess, definitely Daniel Craig. No question. And I do think that he did a great job as Bond, too. He's probably 2nd after Sean Connery. But Sean as Bond is just such an icon - it's difficult to separate the 2.

I'm going to wait to see a little more of Craig before I vote for him. He's definately a contender.

I probably am out of style here when I say I like Roger Moore 3rd best. Most people put him at the bottom of the stack.

My favorite film remains "From Russia With Love." Craigs film(s) are good because they resemble that movie, in that they have less emphasis on gadgets and more on Bond himself.

Sean Connery is the classic movie Bond. He set the standards.

When they first picked Daniel Craig, I thought, this guy doesn't look like a James Bond. But when I saw Casino Royale, boy, I changed my mind. He's excellent, and I hope he can go on for at least two movies beyond Quantum of Solace.

Connery is awesome but Daniel Craig is the reason I'm watching Bond movies again. He's so...so...masculine. I want a man to get beat up, naked and run for 15 minutes over cranes without panting.

Sorry, is it hot in here?

Forget the suave Bond, I'll take rough-around-the-edges Craig any day (then night, then again in the daytime).

In my opinion Brosnan only made one good Bond movie. I love Goldeneye but the others? Meh!

I haven't seen Craig as Bond yet, but aim to.

My favorite is Connery, of course.
Brosnan was very good.
I thought Lazenby was very good too - too easily overlooked. His role *had* to be different -- he played the Bond who fell in love.

I liked Moore for who he was - and, from the couple of Bond novels that I read, I thought Moore reflected the original Bond image very well. In the Fleming novels, Bond came across to me as a brand-conscious, cheesy lothario. That, he did well.

Timothy Dalton? Didn't care for his rendition at all. Too belligerent, not cool enough by half.

And yeah, that original Casino Royale was a mess. Was Terry-Thomas in it, or am I confusing it with It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World? (Which is not the stretch that it might sound.)

I grew up watching Moore as Bond so will always like him. Connery and Craig both look the part. they both look rugged and dangerous so suit the role more. Dalton was good too but took himself too seriously. living Daylights was awesome but License To Kill was a terrible film.
Living Daylights and Goldeneye are my favourite movies but Casino Royale is up there. The Craig version that is!

Funny, though. The general line of thinking is "the first Bond you see is your favorite". The first Bond movie I saw was Live and Let Die, and I think Moore is in the bottom two, just above Dalton (who's a captivating mess in his own right. If you looked at his cinematic history before his first turn, you'd think "...th'fuque?")

I like the way they brought Bond back from being a cartoon with Brosnan and Craig, though. Brosnan played him as a cool superspy with spiffy gadgets but Craig brought back that edge of a ruthless killer you'd expect in a real superspy. Totally looking forward to Quantum of Solace.

But not the new theme song.

Though I could probably only name one Bond movie by its title, Casino Royal with Daniel Craig AND might be one of my top 3 Bond movies...the other two I can't name because I just stated that I could probably name only one...I must say Roger Moore was my favorite Bond. I grew up with Roger Moore-Bond. I've never seen a Sean Connery-Bond flick in its entirety, in my entire life.

Pierce Brosnan is good at that type of role, but they really should have just created a new character, a new hero, a different movie completely. Because he's no Bond. But he was good.

Daniel Craig...he may be able to getterdun. CR was fabulous. Full of action the way a Bond flick should be. For once I'll say, less sex - more action. Please.

Roger Moore was the worst. Bond. Ever. Some liked his humor, but I just didn't buy it -- and I was just a kid. He looked and acted more like a car salesman to me.

I was too young to know the difference....but I grew up with Roger. Bond flick after Bond flick after Bond flick.....Roger Moore was all I knew. When I first found out that there was Bond before Roger, I was floored. I then tried watching a Sean Bond.....and I was devastated. I wanted Roger.
