Somehow, I must have hit a wrong key shortcut and messed up my formatting in MS Word. The sentences now have little dots between each word, and paragraph symbols at the end of every paragraph.
I tried to cut and paste a sample of the text, but it does not carry over to this post as it shows on the screen.

Anyone have any ideas?

You've hit the show/hide format marks thingy. It looks like a back-to-front P - or a bit like a music note. Hit it again and the dots and whatsits will disappear.

yes, easy to fix:
btw--the dots are space fillers and the backwards Ps show isertion of a new paragraph
--right click in the space where it says: File-View Edit-Insert
--choose STANDARD toolbar--at the top
--you'll see a backwards filled in P-which is probably hilighted and or has an active box around it
--click it to turn it off
then you won't see any formatting marks :}
