To those of you lucky enough to have an agent, how long did the agent review your work before offering representation? For whatever reason, I feel like offers happen really quickly or not at all. Does anyone have any success stories to share where agents had their work for months and months and then offered representation?

Thanks Darzian, I moved my question to the agent thread!

My agent had my query for about 40 minutes before she phoned and asked for the full.

She had the full for 36 hours before phoning and offering representation and lunch.

She's been very supportive, very helpful, and very positive ever since: but she hasn't managed to sell that particular book.

My agent had my MS around 2 months before offering representation -- which she offered the day she finished reading my MS -- but we'd also met in person and had hit it off, so that helped greatly, I'm sure. She sold that book, and it's sequel, 5 months later.
