Time Traveler convention

Not exactly sci-fi related, but in case anyone's interested, MIT is holding the only time traveler convention ever on May 7.

It does bring up interesting questions though, and I'm sure they've been answered already, but if someone did show up from the future, wouldn't they be altering the past and therefore going into an alternate future (parrallel universe here). It does make for some exciting stories though, provided you do it right hehe.
