View Full Version : Need a Relevant TV/Movie Quote

Here's the deal: I need to have one of my characters segue into a conversation about how he likes to quote movies and TV, so I'm looking for a quote that he might use in this scene. Basically, he just got rescued from being kidnapped, and he's having minor cuts treated at the hospital, when his federal agent friend gives back his iPod. So maybe something about how much he likes his music. Any ideas?

What kind of shows or movies is your character most likely to watch?

I suggest IMDB. Here's what came up when I typed in "love music":

You can use the search function and just select "quotes" so that IMDB searches for all references to music in movies and TV. It is addictive, but very effective if you are looking for something about a specific subject.

How bout "I'm getting too old for this sh*t," from Lethal Weapon? That line is so frequently appropriate.

Or to paraphrase This Is Spinal Tap, "This Ipod goes up to eleven (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Up_to_eleven)."

Or, "My preeeeeecious!" from the LOTR movies.

Or if he's listening to his music, "You talkin to me?" from Taxi Driver.

And here goes AFI's top 100 movie quotes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI%27s_100_Years..._100_Movie_Quotes).

Or the joke from Airheads

Lemmy and God are in a wrestling match. Who wins?

Trick question dickhead. Lemmy is god.

or maybe : Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make.

Wayne's world, party time, excellent!

'I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees.'

Thanks for the ideas! I really like the "my precious" idea, especially since my character is a nerd.
