Happy Thanksgiving!

So far this weekend Iíve peeled and chopped 5 pounds of carrots; cooked and mashed 4 pounds of potatoes; cooked 3 pounds of sweet potatoes; steamed 2 pounds of green beans; made 1 peanut butter cheesecake; and stuffed and cooked one very large turkey. In a few hours Iíll have had 2 turkey dinners without benefit of leftovers and I still havenít had time to clean my house. AND my oldest sister is no longer talking to me. :box:

However, this has been a beautiful weekend for a holiday. The weather is perfect and the leaves are spectacular. If you get a chance, I highly recommend a drive in the country.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians.

I think I have turkey hangover today. We made our turkey the way Pierre Berton suggested -- he had a recipe from Morton Thompson. I also made whiskey sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and some side veg. Whew. I'm glad this only happens once a year, although there is nothing like the smell of a Thanksgiving dinner in the oven.
