Redbull? Or cocaine?

I leave it to the jury to decide.

P.S: Go for long jog. It'll take the edge off. Trust me.

Add some vodka to it. You might be surprised at how much fun it is.

Red Bull + vodka = my favorite drink.

I had been off the stuff for a while. Now that I'm back on... well, I woke up with a headache today, drank a Mountain Dew and presto, headache gone.

Don't take the plunge Bravo. Let this be a lesson to you, lest caffeine subjugate you...

What would redbull and absinthe be like?

How can you even drink that stuff? It's horrible. Worst tasting stuff on earth and it's so overly carbonated it hurts.

Yuck. I don't get how anyone can drink it.

I still remember my first Red Bull.

My friends and I were cramming for the Anatomy lab test from hell. Things were suddenly much more interesting- I couldn't stand still. Couldn't tolerate pauses in the review. If I wasn't overstimulated then I was crawling out of my skin.

Good times. Though I was lucky to dodge the mass urination effect ;)

Can you believe that some marketing twit decided it would be a good thing to sell in our theatres? The teens are bad enough--dope them up with Red Bull and it was sometimes a nightmare.

We don't sell the stuff any more. *big sigh of relief*

lol, most entertaining thread ever.

I frequently get way too stimulated from a Red Bull in the morning, but this morning, add tiredness, hayfever, stress at work all getting in the way of a flurry of inspiration for my novel and then imagine how I was feeling.

Please tell me about this Red Bull stuff. I've been away from the states since the early nineties. Back then I'd drink two Mountain Dews before my night classes and zippidee-do-dah through the long lectures (doodling incessantly with a lot of leg jiggling thrown in). This sounds similar.

What does it taste like? And who is it marketed for?

So curious!

Well, it was entertaining for me coz I was on a caffeine high all day, and very very bored at work.

Redbull's nothing. You want to try the tiny little bottles of energy drink you can get in SE Asia (maybe all of Asia, I had them in Thailand).
Actually, now I think of it, I believe there was a Redbull branded one.

bsolah

Yeah, Red Bull was taken from the original Thai Red Bull. Now that's a caffeine hit

My brother came to visit and gave me a Bawlz. I buzzed for three days, and didn't drink anything with caffeine in it for a year.

I haven't had a Redbull in years. Like - 7 years. I've been drinking coffee since I was 19 - Redbull came out when I was 25ish, so I'd already built up a tolerance to caffeine. But I do recall a slight rush that lasted about an hour when I'd drink one. I found myself in a 3:00 slump at work and would pound one, swearing that it perked me up for the remainder of the day.

Add some vodka to it. You might be surprised at how much fun it is.

This is why I stopped drinking them. It became "cool" to do Redbull and Vodkas, and that just sounds disgusting.

Um, please keep in mind that caffeine helps you Retain info, but not RECALL it. (Don't drink it right before a test. Drink it while your cramming the night before)

JimmyB27, yea we have those in Japan, too. The little glass-bottled energy drinks. Here they promote all the B vitamins they contain. But if you read the ingredients there is a ton of caffeine, even nicotine and salt peter (yum!).

That's intereresting Red Bull came originally from Thailand though. I wonder if it has nicotine and salt peter in it.

Just found one in our refrigerator. Looks like this:

Ha! Nowadays what doesn't have melamine in it. ;) The secret ingredient!

I'm still curious. Is it cola tasting? These Japanese drinks are sorta sour tasting. Nasty.

I concur.

I'm not a big caffeine person anyway. I'm hyper enough.

Come back down, Bravo. It's okay. There's Coors Light down here.

We float down here.

We all float.

For those curious about the taste, it's very sweet and sugary. Not much else to it. For those that hate it, to each your own but please become those people like my parents who placate us about how it's terrible for us.

It's only got about as much caffeine in it for a cup of coffee, so it's usually the addition of sugar to gives us the extra high, and there's so many more dangerous things in the world that'll kill us first, e.g. work :tongue

I'm so gonna try some when I get back to the States (when I'm able to afford a ticket). Thanks, Benjamin!

What? Nobody else went through the 60s?

I was born in 1968. I missed all the good stuff.

We had to make do with Jolt Cola.

If I drank Red Bull I think I'd die, between the heart palpitations, the sugar/insulin rush, the headache, the spaciness and the extreme adrenalin high ... just bag me up and let me die.
