What maestro said. There's a bunch of "custom avatar" type threads in our FAQ forum that most folks stumble across first, and which explains the 50 posts required thing. You'll appreciate I was replying to ladyvincenza who already had 50+ posts, so there was no need to mention this.
There's also a FAQ item (the FAQ link to the right of User CP) that further explains,
How do I add a custom title under my name in my posts?
On Absolute Write, if you've made at least 50 points and have a reputation score of 10 or more, you'll become a "Super Member" and be able to have your own custom title and avatar, and you can add events to the calendar.
