1. Edit and sub the two short stories I've recently drafted.

2. Add value and interest to other two stories that need beefing up - then sub them.

3. Write one (or possibly two) new medical stories.

4. Draft eight more short stories.

5. Edit and sub some of the above.

6. Do something to my novel.

7. Decide if I'm going to do Nano.

I'm traveling most of the month, so lighter goals:

1) Finish final-final-final revisions on Hourglass. (ETA: Done!)
2) Complete the all-but-completed outline for Fortune's Sound. (ETA: I didn't quite get this completed, but I got a lot closer.)
3) Do a great job of promotion on my first-ever book tour the last week of this month. (ETA: Done!)

That's it. November, now -- in November I have to get a lot done. A LOT.

My goal: Hit 70k in my WIP. I want to have it finished by Christmastime, so I can read it over and begin revisions on a road trip down South.

Eep! :p

Newbie to Goals

Okay Everybody, this is my first time at posting goals, so here goes!

1. Complete current project in process (250 pg textbook supplement with writing partner) - we have a Nov. 1 deadline with publisher - big load off, as this has been in works since 2006.

2. Brainstorming session with same publisher regarding possible future projects.

3. Submit two short stories.

4. Get outline ready for first crack at NaNo.

5. Go to writer's conference at end of month.

Thanks for your encouragement. Being a part of this community has really been beneficial to me.

The countdown in my signature. That (and college apps, eck eck gross) is the only thing that exists writing-wise right now.

It must be done before October 31st.

1. Outline in moderate detail and pull together some research for my NaNoWriMo novel
2. Write 10,000 more words on my WIP, and fill in details on its outline
3. Med School Application essay (teh doom!)
4. Finish reading Gardner's "Art of Fiction"

That's it for me 'cause allegedly this month I am applying to med school, finding a new job, doing a 5-day 330 mile bike ride to raise money for the organization I volunteer with, sewing 3 halloween costumes, and sewing baby shower gifts for 4 babies. And drinking an awful, terrible, disgusting amount of coffee, apparently.

Ok, gonna try this again:

Me too!
Finish, revise and edit WIP--it can be done, because I'm so close to finish. All I need is some serious BIC, and perhaps staying away from AW boards more! So, I'm going to put my little ticker back up and do it!

Good luck everyone!

Tell us all the goals you'll meet!

Okay, here's a basic list of my goals for October:

1. Figure out what I'm going to do for NaNoWriMo next month. I have some three or four potential stories to work on and I really need to whittle it down to one.
2. Write that short story I promised I would work on last month, this month.
3. Write a vignette every day, 31 total.
4. Develop my character Jared, for whom I've written some five vignettes, and possibly work on a story with him as the MC.
5. Seriously consider working on some older ideas, including my old Promised World premise, as well as a new story centering around characters from Wyverinia, the world in my old PA book. I've been getting an awful lot of inspiration concerning this world again, and I cannot ignore it, even with the failure of the first book about it still looming overhead.
6. If I figure out which novel to work on for NaNoWriMo next month, I want to think over the story very carefully and produce an outline for it in preparation for the November challenge. :)
