Does anyone else have a soft spot for certain trailers?

I've always wished I could've been in theaters in 1980 to see the original teaser for The Shining. I can only imagine that people were thinking, "What the hell was that?"

I'm forever fond of the Sin City trailer. The music, the mood, I watched this forever when it first came out.

And I also liked the original trailer for this indie flick The Signal. I was obsessed with watching this for a while. Who would've thought Perfect Day would work well in a preview for a horror movie about maniacal, murderous rampage? The whole vibe of the trailer still gives me goosebumps.

Any trailers you're particularly fond of? Share...

The Green Mile. The music and the voice-over nearly made me cry.

Pearl Harbor. The music and the President's "day of infamy" voice-over did make me tear up.

I'm still lovin' on The Dark Knight's trailer. Just wow.

I can't believe I forgot to mention the TDK "Joker trailer." I had it saved to my jump drive for a while.

And yeah, the Pearl Harbor trailer is cool too...

The only trailer that ever made me WANT to see a movie that I normally wouldn't see--and I actually DID see the movie on opening weekend--was Disney's "Eight Below" about the sled dogs abandoned in the South Pole.

And it was a good movie to boot, even if it's not my usual cuppa.

It's recent, but the 'Indiana Jones Meets Speilberg's UFO Fetish' trailer was pretty good.

Also, the trailer for 'Fanboys' is outstanding (with various dipping sauces).

Finally, the Red band 'Zack and Miri' Trailer is hialrious.

I remember back in 1983 the trailer for Star Trek III, The Search for Spock, and thinking how cool the movie looked. After all these years, I still remember Kirk saying in the trailer, "Good shooting Mr. Scott."

I thought the last Pirates trailer was awesome. The edge of the earth, the maelstrom and all that great sword fighting on top of the ship's mast.

Zach and Miri is adorable.

The Atonement trailer was what got me interested in the film/book.

The opening sequence of TDK was the bomb.

The Prestige and the Illusionist both had excellent trailers.

I can't do this thread. The desire to see these movies is way too strong, now i'm gonna have to watch Sin City and TDK.

The trailer for the Phantom Menace was pretty good. Too bad the movie couldn't live up to the expectations.

The Shining teaser is my favorite trailer of all time- sometimes I think it just maay be better than the movie!

I loved the Eyes Wide Shut trailer even though the movie was terrible. Kidman. Cruise. Kubrick. Isaak.

The Watchmen trailer is probably the only trailer that has made me immediately hit replay on youtube after watching it. I was excited for TDK, but not this excited. I've seen the Watchmen trailer at least twenty times. Just the whole mood, the images, the fitting music, everything! /fanboigasm

Ancient history, and not a trailer, but it might as well have been...

About a week before Top Gun opened, MTV started playing the music video for the theme song Danger Zone. That music video had to be the reason Top Gun was playing to packed houses right from the start. It was amazing.
