View Full Version : Strange dreams

I've been having very unusual dreams lately, each one very different than any other dream I've had before. Could anyone give me an interpretation on them? They don't seem related in content, but they feel so different from normal dreams that I have and I'm curious to see if anyone can make anything out of them. Here's the three most recent dreams:

Dream #1: In the first one, I was standing on my back porch looking out into the alley, and instead of seeing a dense line of hosues like usual, there was a large, empty field and all the dirt was an orange color (it reminded of a bombing field). The air was dusty and there was rubble everywhere. My dad was outside in nothing but overalls with a hammer, banging on what looked like two metal bird domes and he kept muttering things like, "It'll be okay, they won't come here", and he was sweating and shaking something fierce. I went back into the house where my dog split into two idetical versions of herself and asked me to make a choice. I picked the dog on the right, knowing it was her, and she shrunk to the size of a puppy and jumped into my arms. I went back outside to see my dad hunched on the ground crying and trembling. I ran over to him to see if he was okay, and an old woman emerged from the dust with a shawl covering her face so all I could see was her milky blue-white eyes, and she said "I don't know why you're still here," shrugged, and walked away. Then the groud started shaking and I looked down the alley from where she came to see a HUGE black shadow coming down the street (this thing had to be at least 80 feet tall, it was absolutely enormous), and then I woke up in a cold sweat.

Dream #2: In the second one, I was in my house having a party. All of my fun, freaky friends were there, and we were blaring music, passing a few joints, and enjoying a keg. After a while, one of my friends came up to me and said, "I hope the Catchers don't come". As soon as she finished her sentence, the sound of motorcycles could be heard from outside, and everyone started running and hiding, knocking over tables and chairs and busting windows to leave. The front door busted open and a bunch of stereotypical-looking bikers burst in, grabbing teens out of every corner of the house and beating them. They dragged us out and tied us to the back of the motorcycles and drove us to some weird concentration-type camp to work as slaves. I remember I was beaten almost completely raw, branded with the thorisaz rune on my shoulder blade, and they took everything away from me. They threw me into what looked like a hospital gown, put a shovel in my hands, and dragged me out into what looked like a cement gymnasium and the floor was covered in dirt. There were probably about 200 other slaves digging trenches. I started digging and someone whipped me from behind, and that's when I woke up.

Dream #3: The last dream is pretty strange too- in the dream, I was a seven year old boy hitching a ride on the side of the road. A family picked me up. There was an older man, an older woman, and another boy looking to be a bit younger than I was in the dream. All of them were crying and pampering me, saying they'd take care of me (it felt like something bad had happened, like a terrorist attack or something, because I knew they had lost their family too). They told me they'd take good care of me if I agreed to go on a trip with them. I agreed and got in the car. They drove out to the middle of nowhere and asked us all to get out. They escorted me and the little boy to a field where there was an old, rusty metal cage. They told the other boy that they loved him very, very much and to get in the "elevator to heaven" (they point to the cage). The boy got in and they locked the cage shut. They parents said they'd be with him soon, cut a rope, and a huge platform of nails dropped onto the cage out of nowhere and completely skewered the boy. The parents took out his body, mourned for a few moments, and the woman got in the cage too. She was crying, her make up was running down her face, and she poked her hands through the bars. The man kissed her hand, kissed her lips, said he loved her, then cut the rope. She, too, was skewered. He turned to me and asked me to get in the cage. I said that I didn't want to and started running the other way. I turned and looked back, and he was kneeling on the ground next to the cage, holding his wife's hand, and then shot himself in the head. I hesitated then came back to see if he was really dead, and then I sat in the field next to their bodies and started crying. That's where the dream ends.

Sorry, I know it's a bit of a long post :)

Wow, those are weird dreams. Old ladies emerging from dust, enslaved by a motorcycle gang, and witnessing a killer cage. Lay of the drugs. :D JK.

I have weird dreams too.

We need someone who is good at dream interpretation on these threads. I keep having dreams of badly broken bones, where the jagged bone pieces break through the skin, and it always a crushing of the bone and always a bloody scene. Sometimes it's me or someone I love, but either way, it's never that big of deal. When it's me, it's almost a relief to feel those smashed bones. I know, weird.

I used have dreams of being hit from behind, over and over, and being struck hard, and I'd often fall forward. And the feeling of the violence, even though it wasn't me doing the hitting, but being on the receiving end, was again, something of a relief. But it seems the crushed bones have now replaced the beatings. Hmm.

Actually, I probably don't want to know what these dreams say about the twisted tunnels of my subconscious mind.

:D

Maybe I should cut down on the drugs.... Hmmm... :D

My skin always comes off like butter in dreams. When I was a kid, I remember I had a dream where I had a hang nail and I went to pick it off, and when I pulled, the skin came off all the way down my arm in a strip, kind of like unwrapping the wax from a Babybel cheese thing.

You know, with a bit a work, I bet our gruesome subconscious imagination could rival even Stephen King's stuff :D

I used to be decent at dream interpretation when I was a kid, but I seemed to have lost it. I remember my family members would tell me their dreams and ask for advice, even when I was as young as 6 or 7. Now I can't do it :(

girl -

you're looking at the future.
(not necessarily yours)

but you didn't hear it from me.

Metal cages in the first and third dreams.

I think you're afraid that you'll be stuck in your hometown and stagnate.

Try listening to Simon and Garfunkel's song, "My Little Town." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVGc58r_YTU

If it resonates, I might be right.

(P.S. This song haunts me, young'in!)

I have a strange dream-- happens at least once a month. I'm in some sort of dystopian wreck-yard--steel beams stretch up to a gray sky. I'm sneaking around, trying to find something. I get caught, tied to some beams--and then the people who caught me hammer a big steel bar into my chest for an audience that wasn't there a minute ago.

It's a pretty crappy dream. I doubt it--or any others--mean anything.

Dream interpretation is highly personal. In my experience, the best way to go about it is to keep a journal. One person's interpretation of something is often miles away from someone else's, and dream books, imo, are...well, nevermind. :D

Anyway - the best luck I have had with dream interpretation is to journal and use forms of divination to work through my journal entries.

You hope.

Basically, yeah.

It's usually a psychological reason if you keep having the dream. Your subconscious is trying to tell you something. Perhaps you're looking for recognition, but you fear becoming hurt in the process.

Or

It's an idea for a new Xbox game, or a book. What do you think it means? I know, if you knew you wouldn't be asking.

How've you been? Besides the mysterious dreams?
