Just a little mod uprising.

Nothing to worry about.

You'll be fine. Just lay down and do what the nice mod tells ya. ;)

Shawkins has been wearing that title for THREE YEARS.

Geeze. He's an admin, who does server side stuff.

He's the miracle worker who installed and set up the new server after you know what, and has been doing stuff ever since.

Mac's working for a living. Some of us do that.

Plus, you know it's not OK to use member names in thread titles.

Tsk.

FAQ: What Does "Runs the Joint" mean in a User Title?

Right now, two members MacAllister and shawkins have a user title that says "Runs the Joint."

That means that they're Admins.

MacAllister is the owner of Absolute Write, as well.

shawkins, Scott Hawkins, is a extremely skilled (even though he doesn't use Mac OS X) software engineer and sys admin, who volunteers (saves us from dire perdition) for AW, and has done for three years now.

Don't make me lock this thread you two. *and* port both posts to the landfill...

ETA - the posts that inspired this one have been moved to the landfill, along with the taunting that prompted me :D

Are we sure this "shawkins" fellow isn't really (scrambles letters around like jk rowling or dan brown might) whaskins?

is William Haskins secretly planning an AW coup?!?!

Have you ever seen Shawkins and Whaskins together?!?!?

Has ANYONE!??!?!

Ok, one that I often wonder about is, is Medievalist, MacAllister that runs the joint? :)
I've read that question 17 and a half times and still have no idea what it means. Is it a code? :D

If you're asking is Medievalist and Macallister the same person, then nope, they are not. If you're asking do green polar bears fly by night over yellow snow? Then my answer would be: pink potatoes grow on mars but only during the winter.

No, Medievalist is not the same as MacCannister. MacAllister. Whatever. The chick who owns and runs the joint.

And we I can prove it:

Here's a picture of MacAllister, Medievalist, and the fabulous Dawno.

Together, they are Medawnistero.

I saw them perform in Tokyo in '91, opening for Depeche Mode and the Indigo Girls. It was AWESOME.

Back in November of 2006 when MacAllister became the owner of AW and took over, a lot of us took "gopher cult" titles. You can read about it here. "Cultus Gopherus MacAllister" is pseudo medieval Latin for MacAllister's Gopher Cult.
