What is Your Favorite "Rough Neck" Character/Movie???

One of my favorite movies is Sin City.

The writing in that movie is so razor sharp that I can watch that movie non-stop all day.

But my favorite lines belong to Marv. His character is so rough and tough but somehow, the writer makes him real, gives him a depth that somehow enables him to transcend the cartoonishness of his character.

This got me thinking. What other "rough neck" characters are out there.

Marv: I love hitmen. No matter what you do to them, you don't feel bad.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marv: This is blood for blood and by the gallon. These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choice left. And I'm ready for war.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cardinal Roark: Will that bring you satisfaction, my son? Killing a helpless, old, fart?

Marv: Killing? No. No satisfaction. Everything up until the killing, will be a gas.

Can I nominate the supporting cast of Armageddon? Rockhound (Steve Buscemi), Bear (Michael Clarke Duncan), Chick (Will Patton), Oscar (Owen Wilson), and Max (Ken Campbell). :D

:D Ditto!

I have a big ginormous crush on Michael Clarke Duncan, but that's got nothing to do with my ditto here, I swear!

Riddick count? :D

"A four man crew for me? F*cking insulting..."

Abso-freaking-lutely. I loved Pitch Black and thought Chronicles of Riddick was even better. Very good movie, I loved his character and ending.

Best part about that movie, is the addage that all characters think they are the main character. This movie did that extremely well.

The city of legions eats their new earth
Clint Eastwood in... basically anything is the clear choice here.

Especially when he's any of the versions of the Man With No Name. Now there is ruggedness. He's still a gritty hardass twenty years later in Million Dollar Baby.
