Soon as I get a moment's peace (most likely that won't be until the kids go to bed) I'll be watching. Thanks for the link!

I remember your reaction to him. That's why I'm so anxious to have a chance to watch without kid interruptions.

It refuses to play more than the first five minutes. And I was really getting into it.

Some of my favorite things he said:
"WITH craft, any story can be sold and published..."
"so the truth you tell will be read and published"
being active about what makes good writing.
all writers become haunted
essentially when you write, others that read what you write are reading YOU.
when you have the craft the next thing you need to do is to be yourself.
Taking the risk of being yourself.

Fantastic.

I love this. I downloaded the video. It is very inspirational.

I've never read him. (I have no idea what an Alphasmart is either, but that's not surprising.)

Great video. He seems like such a nice, approachable guy. It's too early to comment more on the details of his talk (I watched it last night).

Wow! That's cool. I'd love to have been there. I'm at work so I can't listen to his speech. I'll have to wait until I get home (to my house, in ONTARIO).

I haven't read his work, although I keep meaning to. His name is always on my must-read list. Maybe I'll go out at lunch and treat myself to a book! Thanks for the reminder about this wonderful author, Kevin.

I also loved his emphasis on craft and how a mastery of craft allows you to express who you are. I'm going to hunt down some of his stories now. Thank you for posting this!

Really? That's weird. It worked fine for me. Anybody else having issues with it?

ETA: I just scrolled through the Choy one and was able to see past the first five minutes all the way through the 13 minutes. I don't know what's up?

I'll try it again when I get the time.
