This was in my Quotes of the Day box today.

I can't understand why a person will take a year to write a novel when he can easily buy one for a few dollars.

Good old Fred. Fred Allen was a great old time radio comedian. He and Jack Benny had a great on-air "rivalry."

*waits for the youn'uns to go, "Jack who?"*

Sad NewsWith all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote 'The Hokie Pokey' died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in...... and then the trouble started.

Since were mentioning qoutes, here are my favs:

Mae West - "When I'm good, I'm good. When I'm bad, I'm even better!"

Oliver Reed, when asked about dying - "My only regret will be that I didn't drink every pub dry and slept with every woman on the planet"

George Burns - "I'd rather fail at something I love than succeed at something I hate"

Rod Stewart - "Instead of getting married again I'm just going to find someone I hate and give her a house"

And my most favored:

Ernest Hemingway - "All first drafts are shit"
