. . . we never had a need to spend the night here.

It's still run by the Stovalls but the light columns and other "tomorrowland" touches are long gone.

They just don't build 'em like they used to.

Yup! I pass it every day on the way to work. It looks like every single other hotel on harbor: cruddy so-cal faux mission style. :Shrug:

The family touristas are perhaps much more inclined towards 90s faux renovation than original modern, from - when? the 60s? 70s? Or, perhaps the Western chain overhauled its "look" and decided to go with tacky fake terra cotta roofing - thought it would blend in more. After all, it is Florida. Isn't there a lot of terra cotta down there, fake and otherwise?
