SVEN! Good to ya, big feller!

Someone must have gotten some time off from training camp. (football joke)

Here's a little reading material for ya. Amazon has an entire forum dedicated to viking romance novels (http://www.amazon.com/tag/viking%20romance). (who knew?) I know ya got a soft spot for hearts and flowers.

I know ya got a soft spot for hearts and flowers.

Anyone else seeing visions of flocks of battle birds flying through the sky carrying long-stemmed roses clutched in their talons?

It goes with Vegemite.

I've missed Sven. He gives good reps.

Give the viking some mead. He'll settle.

I'll take the mead, perks, if you take the herring.

The battle birds love Sven. Especially when he lets them perch on his horned helmet while he plunders and pillages. Nothing like a front row seat!

Sven_the_Viking
08-13-2008, 04:10 AM
And I love them, too. Especially now that I have been given the miraculous Cloak of Plastic to cover my furs. They do like to leave their little gifts on my shoulders...

TheIT

Do the battle birds love mead & herrings, too?

Oh yes, and I have taught them many great carousing songs. They carry the tune, I sing the harmony. Reindeer keeps the beat.

I'm going to move this to Office Party. Hang on to your mead and herring...

That evil Dawno. My post count has now shrunk back to 107. No mead for her.

Is this (http://www.fabioifc.com/Bookcover_Shots/viking.jpg) the real identity of the mysterious, mead-swilling Sven?

Heh heh. About those gifts....I never did have Sven's furs cleaned after the last party, did I?

And Sven has indeed taught the battle birds some nifty Viking drinking songs.

Unfortunately, they don't hold their mead well.

I'll take the mead, perks, if you take the herring.I like herring. I bought a jar of the pickled business a few weeks ago (which was weird - made me worried I was in the alien way) and polished it off nearly all on my own.

Except for the bit I gave my five year old. Poor thing. She nearly turned inside out.

It compensates for vegemite . . . sorta like Scotch and Haggis

Well that's a relief.
I'll take the Scotch, give Haggis a bisquit and go back to drinking!

Hey, Sven!

The World Tree

Nine nights, nine worlds
in Odin's steed
to ride the gallows
of the ash Yggdrasil,
a trunk of wisdom
historic roots
he hung to take
the runes,
from the world of gods
the world of giants
and the underworld below.

Nine nights he hung
spear in his side
the cirrus dew
his sustenance
and dreamed of home
his Carrion Hall
to awaken the dead
for their secrets.

From all three wells
of wisdom he drank
the frenzied mead of poetry.

Now, could someone please be a good Viking and butter me up some lefse and get the nose plugs out for the lutefisk.

In line behind Dol. With a horn of mead in hand.

I've never tried mead. It always seemed more expensive than I was willing to pay for alcoholic honey.

I do like herring though. Either the sour cream or the pickled variety.

Keep yer fish. Mead is awesome. Tugwell Creek Meadery in Sooke makes a fabulously dry spiced mead. It's like a cup of Christmas.

I wasn't offering my herring.

I wouldn't mind sampling mead, but I'm not paying that kind of money to find out it I don't like it.

So long as there's no burning, I'm okay. The burning plays merry hell with my lungs.

HOW DID I MISS THIS THREAD?

Am I too late to be ravished, or should I get my mace and grab me a man to ravage?

SP!! SP!! Come here! There's sweaty stuff needs doing!

Haha! Actually I have a bottle of mead under the counter. I'm not much for herring, though.

Careful with that mace now...

Mr Flibble

Aha! That's more like it - my own personal viking to ravage. Have him stripped, washed and brought to my tent! With baby oil!

Oh feisty! I like it!

*swings mace on chain* Here SP, SP. It's just a ravaging. You'll like it, promise.

Actually I prefer being ravaged. Hence the attraction of vikings. I give as good as I get though. ;)
