A Seattle area postal carrier is campaigning to have kilts become a uniform option.

Thus begging the question: What does a good postal carrier wear under his kilt?

loose rolls of stamps?

:)

I read about his efforts recently and wasn't surprised to learn his campaign had failed. The US Postal Service isn't the most accommodating or far-sighted bureaucracy in the states.

That would kind of make the snow, hail, and sleet mail delivery thing a chilly and shrinking endeavor.

Shoot, I don't blame him. When we lived in NC, our mail carrier walked more than she drove, and she always looked overwarm, even in shorts.

A kilt would probably save your skin from some badass chafing.

Whoa. That's probably the weirdest thing I've ever typed in this joint, hands down.

Are you saying you could type weirder with your hands up?

wait... nevermind.

Yes, stop that train of thought now, before it jumps the tracks and wrecks in a rather spectacular, if amusing, fashion.

:D

Thanks, SK. It was unsettling (and upsetting) to see a post deleted when I had meant it in a purely playful fashion :)

Hoo-boy, apparently this Silver King fellow never heard the old lipstick joke...

Fortunately Williebee has a sense of humor :)
I pondered that one for a while and even sent Will a short note asking what he thought of the comment. He wasn't online at the time, so I have no way of knowing how he felt.

In any case, I rarely delete comments, but that one struck a nerve with me, so it's gone now. Chalk it up to censorship and all that jazz.

ETA: Deleted post reversed to let stand after discussing context with Will.

It's all good, folks. :)

Silver King was just being a thoughtful fish.

Back to the thread at um, hand, though. I can't remember ever seeing a female mail carrier in a skirt, on the road or in the post office.

But, if it were to pass? I can just see dogs all over the country, spreading the word, all excited about the new targets of opportunity.

That blunt under the kilt isn't the worry. It's what's hidden in the sporran, and more importantly that dagger in the stocking (skein do if my spelling is close).

I sure wouldn't mind seeing the Denzil Washington lookalike who delivers the mail here in a kilt.

ETA - Wouldn't mind seeing him in a kilt. The mail isn't in the kilt. Althoguh that brings up some interesting images...
