Today I ascend to my throne. I expect total fawning. Especially from you in the back row, there.

I find the 8 a comforting number. It has balance and seems to have no beginning or end. It makes a nice knot too.

Then again, all these 8's might foreshadow the rise of eight-legged creatures to rule the planet. I've seen an abnormally large amount of spiders and octopi in my neighborhood.

It's my older daughter's birthday as well. Sadly we were a year too late for her to turn eight though. Instead she'll be seven on 8/8/08.

8/8/08 is my daughter's 8th birthday! She's so excited she can hardly fall asleep.

My mother's birthday was yesterday. On that day in 1990, just after midday, it was 12:34:56 7/8/90 (using the British date format - in the US this would have happened on the eighth of July).
